Eye miniatures are believed to have originated when the Prince of Wales (later George IV) felt the need to send the widow Maria Fitzherbert a token of his love. Sometimes known as a Lover's Eye and also a Mourner's Eye. I've created something similar but different. I call this a Poet's Eye. This is a framed picture of my eye (artist rendered). The frame is painted and gilded. The back has an original Haiku from my book Avenoir and a poet stamp. The frame size is 4x6. It is a unique hand crafted piece of art.
